Northland Ford Bombers look to finish 2013-14 season on high note at Provincials.

The Flin Flon Northland Ford Bombers have had a successful 2013-14 season, and it all comes to an end this weekend when they travel to Riverton, MB for a chance at provincial glory at Hockey Manitoba Provincials.

They team was supposed to host provincials this year, but a lack of participants they now find themselves traveling to look for a gold medal.

The team has compiled a 14-6-4 record, winning their home tournament and finishing no less than fourth in tournament play all season.  They have faced some tough opponents, especially when they traveled to two Saskatchewan tournaments early in the season, and built a nice riveraly with the Thompson A King Miners which has them finish the season with a 2-1-2 record against their foes to the North.

They travel to uncharted territory and face a team they haven’t seen all season long, which begins this Friday when they take to battle against the Westman Region representatives from Carberry.

Their round robin schedule concludes on Saturday when they face Holland from the Pembina Valley region.  Playoffs then start that afternoon.

In roster changes for the weekend, the team has picked up forward Eli Plamondon to fill the void left by forwards Reagan McCallum and Kole Slugoski.  Eli played for the Atom A Bombers last season.
